    Prahlad Vidyarthi Nilaya, Malamaddi Dharwad is a monumental example of the foresight, societal concern, and special blessings towards students bestowed by Shri Shri Vishweshateertha Swamiji.                     

    Established in 1953, this Nilaya has been a blessed shelter for hundreds and many underprivileged students. All Vidhyarthis consider Nilaya as the holy place that has been a leading light of their life. The noble service to the student community rendered by Prahlad Vidyarthi Nilaya has been replicated in various cities through the establishment of Nilayas, thus facilitating and blessing thousands of students year after year.

    Today Nilaya has alumni spanning over three generations. Many of them have made Nilaya proud by excelling in several professions and reaching higher positions

     Nilaya Foundation started in year 2003 by alumni of Prahlada Vidyarthi Nilaya (PVN), Dharwad. PVN is one of first and oldest hostel started by H.H. Shri Vishvesha Teertha Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt under ABMM. Government officially recognized Nilaya Foundation on 25th January 2006. 
    Nilaya Foundation is an institution dedicated to help the economically weaker, deserving students achieve their educational goals by providing financial help, mentoring, continued career guidance.  Nilaya  or home is exactly what we at Nilaya Foundation strive to give promising, needy students so that they come out successful in their academic pursuits.

Sense of Gratitude and Beyond

The influence of the stay at Prahlad Vidyarthi Nilaya, Dharwad and its effect on the successful life of practically every Nilaya -Bandhu is so strong that old students are always craving to meet each other. This feeling of gratitude has led to a strong will to do a little bit towards Societal/ Community Service resulting in the creation of Nilaya Foundation.

is to provide financial assistance to the underprivileged and meritorious students in the form of Scholarships

Scholorships

General Scholarship: for poor & meritorious students who cannot bear entire expenses of his/her education. In this scheme entire scholorship amount is funded by Nilaya Foundation.Scholorship amount is decided based on course and availability of funds.

Special scholorship process involves below steps

1) Invite Applications
2) Shortlist students based on information provide in application.
3) Background Verification through references/telephone conversation/personal visit.
4) Award scholoship to selected students.

Special Scholarship (Adoption):A donor or institution takes care of the entire education expense of a particular student.In this scheme Nilaya Foundation acts a bridge to connect needy students and generous Donors.

Special scholorship process involves below steps

1) Invite Applications
2) Shortlist students based on information provide in application.
3) Background Verification through references/telephone conversation/personal visit.
4) Prepare profiles of shortlisted students and share the same with prospective donors.
5) Based on donor wish map students to donors.
6) Award scholoship to selected students.
7) Tracking the student s academic progress and updating the donor on the same.














Sankalpa

After having successful results of Spandana (Corpus fund drive) we have started a project called Sankalpa( 100*100 ). What is this Sankalpa (100 by 100 in 100 days)?
We altogether approach and bring minimum of 100 sustain donors in 100 days who can contribute Rs.100/- every month. Main goal of Sankalpa is two fold
Need continuous flow of donation for Nilaya Foundation scholoship fund
To have minimum 100 sustained donors for Nilaya Foundation to ensure that at least 50 students are benefitted each year.
How this project works?
Nilaya Foundation Volunteers approaches prospective donors who can become a sustaining donor.
Convey below payment option to donor and get confirmation
 1) Monthly Rs. 100/- auto debit from their SB /salary account
 2) Yearly / half yearly cheque (PDC)
Nilaya Foundation Volunteers need to gather below information from donor:
 1) Donor complete postal address and contact number
 2) Chosen payment option [1st or 2nd]
 3) Bank Account Number [if 1st preferred]
 4) Bank Name [if 1st preferred]
 5) SB a/c name [if 1st preferred]
Current Status
1) Around 90 donors have shown interest to take part in this noble initiative.
2) Around 60 donors have been contributing each month for last two years.

Most of the people realize the necessity of 'SAARTHAKATE' at a very later stage of their life. By the time they realize the importance of 'SARTHAKATE', enthusiasm and energy levles would have come down. Guilt of not doing anything for the good-will of the society will be haunting them forever. 'ANNADAANA' to deserving people is one of the best and simple way to find 'SARTHAKATE'. In this regard, "AKSHAYA PATRE" program is an attempt to help people find 'SARTHAKATE' in simplest form. Also, this program has blessings from sri sri Vishweshara Teertharu and he is personally guiding us to make this noble cause a grand success.
So you must be curios to know what is this 'AKSHAYA PATRE' all about? 'AKSHAYA PATRE' is aimed at providing free meals to deserving students for all the 365 days in a year. As of now, only students of 'PRAHLAD VIDYARTHI NILAYA' hostel dharwad, are the beneficiaries of this program. Based on the response of our beloved donors, we have plans to extend this program to other hostels.
Interested donors should select a day in a year. That special day can be kid's birthday, donor's marriage anniversary etc etc. on the chosen day, free meals will be served to all students in the name of donor. Donors have the option to chose more than one day in a year also. Donors have to spend just Rs 1200/- for one day meals sponsorship. This program was launched on Jan-2011 and already 100 days of free meals is sponsored from our beloved donors. This is a very encouraging development and Nilaya Foundation is greatful to all the donors who have contributed to this program.
